Thermo-mechanical variability of post-industrial and post-consumer recyclate PC-ABS

The aim of this work is to investigate the performance variability post-industrial (PIR) and post-consumer recycled (PCR) polycarbonate acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (PC-ABS). In addition, necessary testing methodology for understanding polymer variation in polymers are established. thermal expansion behaviour all tested material were found be similar FT-IR revealed no conclusive evidence oxidative degradation. Both PIR PCR exhibited levels mechanical properties compared with prime samples, exception elongation at break quasi-static impact behaviour. these two tests, showed lower superior both polymers. presence defects changes molecular weight determined leading causes reduced deformability. Our contributes by identifying key areas where PC-ABS show good potential as replacements neat PC-ABS. Furthermore, demonstrates methods against criteria pave way effective replacement its counterparts.
